My Garage

Basically, my love of cars began when I was born. I grew up in family garages working on customer's cars, started driving at thirteen, and have never looked back, aside from an occasional glance in the mirrors.

I began working for Honda in 1995 in Colorado as a salesman. I continued in sales at Honda after moving to Austin, Texas until 2010 when I made the transition to service, and have been a service advisor since.

My love of cars became an addiction to racing in 1999 with my Honda Accord. Quickly I realized my need for something a bit more fun and acquired a 2000 Honda Civic Si who I affectionately refer to as Atom.
I ran Atom in stock class until 2004 when I modified him for STS by working on his suspension, wheels, intake, header, and exhaust. Through stock class into the touring class Atom and I brought home multiple class wins. This was when I knew my addiction was here to stay.

I have daily driven Atom all the way to 220,000 miles as of 2016, when I added my newest toy, and have big plans for him in the future.
In 2004 I bought a 1991 Honda CRX from my sister, and went to work setting her up for an SCCA modified class. My sister had named her Betty while daily driving her, and the name stuck. I autocrossed her from 2005 to 2015 along with Atom. She currently sits in my garage beside Atom awaiting her transition into a full SMF competitor.

In 2008 I helped in the build of a 24 Hours of LeMons Integra. Through the process of the build I learned car setup, how to find the best parts cheap, and that duct tape can repair anything. Despite mechanical difficulties, we went on to take third, in which I took the fastest lap time of the event.
My current daily driver and autocross car is a 2016 Mazda Miata where I am competing in street class. Yes, I know they took the Miata badge off, but they will always be Miatas to me. If it makes you feel better, go ahead and scream MX5 all to yourself. I won't tell anyone. Just remember, Miata is always the answer.
